Event & Commercial
Every wedding photographer has some unusual stories to tell quite simply because every wedding is different.
When I got a call from bride to be, Gemma, I wasn’t all that surprised to hear that she had an unusual request. What I was surprised to hear was that she wanted to hire me for two weddings in one week!
Gemma being from Devon, was determined to marry her handsome groom, Thomas, in her home town of Tiverton, however her busy life was now in Surrey, so both she and Thomas wanted to ensure that all their nearest and dearest were able to share in the celebrations.
The solution was a traditional wedding at St Pauls’ Church in Tiverton with close family and friends and then a music festival themed blessing back in Cobham a few days later.
So the challenge was not only to photograph both ceremonies and following celebrations, but also to design bespoke invitations and funky music festival lanyards that would double up as set list, place card and festival map for the guests in Surrey. A challenge that I keenly embarked on!
So the Wednesday wedding soon came around and the sun beamed down on the happy congregation at St Paul’s and later at the Hartnoll Hotel, Bolham.
So then onto Saturday in Cobham and several hundred Lanyards strung and ready to be handed out to guests.
The wedding blessing itself was held at the University Church where both the bride and groom attended, after which they were transported back to thee grooms parents place for a music festival reception.
I think it’s very fair to say that a great time was had by all, including me!
This is certainly a booking that I will remember for a long time with a HUGE number of photos to work through before getting to the final cut.
You can see some of the pictures from both the days events below.
